Zeretha Jenkins received her formal training at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where she excelled as a writer. She's versatile as a playwright, screenwriter, and fiction writer. 

 
  Her plays, AN EVERLASTING TRUTH and ILLUSION IN BLUE, received staged readings at  
  New York University, the Frank Silvera Writers' Workshop, and at the world-renowned 
  Schomburg Center for Research on Black Culture in conjunction with the Frederick Douglass
  Creative Arts Center. AN EVERLASTING TRUTH was selected as one of the winning scripts
  in the Annual Writing Competition sponsored by Writer 's Digest Magazine. 

  Most recently, ILLUSION IN BLUE, was presented in the prestigious 2005 National Black
  Theatre Festival in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, as part of the Readers Theatre Series.
  While demonstrating remarkable talent as an actress, director and most recently a producer,
  Zeretha continues to earn accolades for her writing in a variety of genres. Her creation of 
  strong dramatic characters - particularly lead female characters - helped her script,
  AN EVERLASTING TRUTH, win in the Script category of the prestigious Annual Writing
  Competition sponsored by Writer's Digest Magazine. She adapts fictional and non-fictional works for the stage and screen, and has even adapted one of her original plays, ILLUSION IN BLUE, for the screen.

Her original dramatic trilogy, WALKING BY FAITH: AN AFRO-AMERICAN TRILOGY, is a collection celebrating the Afro-American experience with a unique mixture of colorful characters who epitomize the struggles and triumphs of Afro-Americans throughout history! It is a timely yet timeless piece that is always in season 24-7! The publication date of the newly revised version of WALKING BY FAITH: AN AFRO-AMERICAN TRILOGY (ISBN: 0970134401) is scheduled for September 2006. 

Ms. Jenkins’ professional affiliations include membership in: The Dramatist Guild, the Northeast Louisiana Film and Video Association, Publishers Marketing Association (PMA), Small Publishers Association of North America (SPAN), Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who of American Women. In terms of future projects, Zeretha is hard at work on another feature film script and another book -- a collection of inspirational short stories and dramatic works. As an entrepreneur, she owns and operates her own production company. Additional career goals include writing, directing, and producing future works for commercial theatre, television and film.
